About us
Founded in 2019, Gifted Hands International (GHI) is a maternal health organization committed to closing critical gaps in care by expanding access to culturally competent, professional doula support. We exist to reduce maternal mortality and improve maternal health outcomes through advanced doula training, direct birth support services, and advocacy.
We equip aspiring doulas with professional-level education and preparation to serve families with confidence, compassion, and excellence. Through every training, partnership, and service we provide, our goal is to strengthen maternal health systems and ensure more families receive the respectful, high-quality care they deserve.
Guided by faith, compassion, and a commitment to excellence, Gifted Hands International is dedicated to creating safer, more supported birth experiences—because every life matters.
OUR STORY
Gifted Hands International was founded in response to a deeply personal loss. The founder’s sister passed away shortly after birth due to medical neglect and disrespect during her care. Experiencing that loss within her family revealed the devastating impact that gaps in maternal healthcare can have on mothers, babies, and entire communities.
Growing up with that reality instilled a lifelong commitment to advocacy—first for herself and her family, and ultimately for others navigating pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. Today, Gifted Hands International exists to close critical gaps in maternal health by expanding access to culturally competent, professional doula care through education, direct service, and advocacy.
WHAT WE DO
At Gifted Hands International, our work is centered around education, service, and advocacy:

We equip aspiring doulas with advanced, professional-level training designed to prepare them for real-world birth work and impactful maternal health support. - Doula Services & Birth Support
Through our doula agency, we provide culturally competent, high-quality birth support to families throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. - Advocacy, Partnerships & Systems Change
We collaborate with community organizations, hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers to expand access to doula care and improve maternal health outcomes. We also work alongside policymakers and community leaders to advocate for equitable maternal health systems and long-term change.
